Shredded Chicken Tacos
This “Great for You” simple and delicious recipe is also nutritious and affordable packing 24 grams of protein in only 310 calories and costing $1.35 per serving with ingredients purchased at Walmart.
Makes 4 servings (2 tacos each) 2 teaspoons canola oil 1 cup sliced green bell pepper 1 cup chopped onion 1/2 Marketside Traditional Rotisserie Chicken, skin and bones removed, shredded (about 2 cups) 1 cup Great Value All Natural Peach Pineapple Chipotle Salsa 8 Â small corn tortillas, heatedÂAssorted toppings, such as Great Value Reduced Fat Finely Shredded Fiesta Blend Cheese, shredded lettuce, chopped cilantro, additional salsa
- Heat oil in large nonstick skillet over medium heat.
- Add pepper and onion and cook until softened, 5 to 7 minutes.
- Add chicken, salsa and 1/2 cup water; simmer, covered, until warmed through, 1 to 2 minutes.
- Divide chicken mixture evenly among tortillas and add favorite toppings as desired.
