The kids are home from school today for the Martin Luther King holiday so my 6 year-old wanted to use our new heart pancake mold that she insisted I buy at Crate and Barrel last week since, she said, it means “I love you”.

We decided to add a frozen tart cherries to some pancakes and our last frozen blueberries from the blueberry patch. This makes it so yummy!

Whenever I have leftover pancake batter, I always make the extra pancakes and put the pancakes in the freezer between wax paper. I think they taste great warmed up in the microwave and the fruit adds an extra layer of sweetness and juiciness. Here are some of our extras.

Here is my other favorite buy from Crate and Barrel last month. A HUGE pancake spatula. If you love to make pancakes and your spatula never gets all the way under it. Consider this one. I love it! Of course, the heart mold is perfect for Valentine’s Day. I also picked up an extra one for a Valentine’s Party I will be attending as a hostess gift.
